The aging and photobleaching effects on the acid Fuchsin dye with different concentrations in the absence and the presence of poly(vinyl alcohol) were investigated. For studying the aging effect of the samples, the optical absorption properties were characterized by UV-Vis spectroscopy. Also, the photoluminescence spectrum of the samples was measured for considering the photobleaching effect. The absorbance of dye in the proximity of PVA is enhanced. Existence of PVA introducing a quenching effect in the photoluminescence intensity of dye with an increase in dye concentration. Results show that the aging value of AF dye in the presence of PVA is enhanced with an accompanying quenching of the photobleaching value.
