Finland plans to build a hydrogen transmission network, which will include construction of a pipeline, near its southeastern border with Russia. The network is expected to take several years to build. Initial plans call for a 9-mile (15-km) pipeline to run from the facilities of chemicals producer Kemira's fertilizer plant in Joutseno to steelmaker Ovako's plant in Imatra.
