Launching the VantageDUO has been an extremely exciting time for the team at Thompson Aero Seating. It is not every day that an entirely new concept enters the market and the VantageDUO is not just a new seat, it's a new way of approaching seating and addressing the needs for passenger comfort and airline revenue. In bringing this seat to market, we have been asked many times: 'what problem does it solve?'. In fact, there was no problem. That is what I believe innovation is truly about - solving a problem that does not exist. No customer approached Thompson to say that there was a particular new type of seat they needed. Instead, it was the combination of subtle influences and requirements that brought this innovation about.
