Brussels-Cefic,the European Chemical Industry Council,said it expects a"modest"economic growth for the EU27 chemicals industry this year,with chemical output expected to grow by 2.5,following growth of around 6 in 2021.Demand growth in 2021 was high in the consumer goods industries,and above average in the food and beverage industry as well as the European construction sector.Export demand seems to be recovering too,as exports to countries outside the EU27 expanded by over 15(January to October)compared to 2020,amounting to more than €160-billion.
