CenterPoint Energy operates more than 80,000 miles (130,000 km) of natural gas pipelines and serves over 4.7 million metered natural gas customers across six states: Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Minnesota, Ohio and Texas. In 2020, CenterPoint announced its ambitious goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2035. This includes further implementation of renewables such as wind and solar, carbon capture opportunities in the natural gas supply chain, conservation/efficiencies and carbon reduction technologies including renewable natural gas (RNG).
