Employing C4H12NF·4H2O (C4) as fluoride source, EuF3 nanocrystals with different morphologies have been successfully prepared by varying the solvents (water and ethanol) at room temperature.X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were used to characterize the purity, crystalline phase and morphologies of EuF3 samples. The effects of the fluoride source and the solvent on the morphologies of the EuF3 nanocrystals have been systematically investigated. Furthermore, the photoluminescent properties of different morphological EuF3nanocrystals were measured.
