JSC URAL Civil Aviation Plant (Yekaterinburg) is working on a new turboprop airliner, the TVRS-44. A mock-up was presented to representatives from Rosaviatsia, the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency, and regional airlines in December 2021 Designed to serve regional and local airtransport needs, including operations into challenging and remote regions such as the Arctic, the TVRS-44 will carry 40-44 passengers, offer a 5,000kg payload, have 2,100km practical range, 460-480kt cruise speed and operate into 1,300m runways. The TVRS-44 mock-up's presentation is the first in a series of meetings that Rosaviatsia plans to hold on new aircraft and helicopters intended for regional aviation. A statement from the agency said these meetings are intended to "ensure a constructive and mutually supportive dialogue between aircraft designers and future operators and owners," familiarising operators with the technical and operational characteristics of aircraft under development, and to receive recommendations and proposals from users. Rosaviatsia is also planning to showcase "promising aircraft for regional aviation" during the National Exhibition of Civil Aviation Infrastructure in Moscow on February 10, 2022.
