In 2022, a Japanese team published an analysis of reports of pregnancy loss attributed to prostaglandin F2alpha analogues used as eye drops, which were recorded in the United States pharmacovigilance database (FAERS) up to 2018 and in the Japanese database (Jader) up to 2019 (1). Prostaglandin F2alpha analogues are authorised as eye drops for the treatment of elevated intraocular pressure and include bimatoprost (Lumigan0 or other brands), latanoprost (Xalatan0 or other brands), travo-prost (Travatan0 or other brands) and tafluprost.
