Intracranial hemorrhages due to spontaneous bleedings represent a neurosurgical emergency in infants in which a timely diagnosis is mandatory to adequately manage the case. While gold standard imaging techniques for diagnosis are computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which can additionally diagnose underlying malformations, if surgical evacuation is required and performed, imaging is useful in the intraoperative setting and to aid the surgeon and to postoperatively evaluate the efficacy of the procedure.
