摘要

In this paper, for the first time to the best of our knowledge, a high bit rate of 40 Gb/s wavelength division multiplexing based on a secure free space optical communication system by utilizing an optical chaos. The optical chaos was designed and investigated via OptiSystem-7.0 software. The signal message was hidden by applying the optical chaos masking scheme. According to the obtained results, the optical chaos that causes a more significant deterioration in the link distance in the case of a good weather more than that in a bad weather. The link was degraded from 2-to-1.3 km and from 0.8-to-0.6 km at little fog and at haze, respectively. In addition, the proposed system possessed a communication merit (bitrate product repeater distance) about 52 Gb/s km that belonged to a little fog weather as well as 24 Gb/s km for the case of haze. This is considered as the highest communication merit as compared with the previous works and investigations.
