On June 18, the IEA released a study it commissioned from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that outlines a "green" roadmap for the energy sector that would require an annual investment of $1 trillion over the next three years to reduce GHG emissions and position the sector for the ongoing energy transition. The IEA noted this plan could increase global economic growth by 1.1/y over 2021-2023, save or create around 9MM jobs, and lower GHG emissions by 4.5B mt by the end of 2023.
