In the past two years in particular,Russian polymer exports to the EU have quadrupled to 675,000 t,as Eurostat figures show,after volumes remained largely unchanged between 2015 and 2019.This material could soon be in short supply.Exports from the EU to Russia,on the other hand,have hardly changed since 2015,generally amounting to somewhere between 500,000 t and 590,000 t.Most recently,the figure was 560,000 t.In a latest step,the G7 countries and the EU also want to cancel Russia's so-called most-favoured nation status.The head of the Centre for Foreign Trade at Germany's ifo Institute,Lisandra Flach.said this would be close to an exclusion from the World Trade Organisation.
