Florence Ashley is a transfeminine jurist and bioethicist. They are currently completing their doctorate at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and Joint Centre for Bioethics. Florence is the author of Banning Transgender Conversion Practices: A Legal and Policy Analysis (UBC Press, 2022).Phoebe Friesen is an Assistant Professor in the Biomedical Ethics Unit and the Department of Social Studies of Medicine at McGill University. She has written about the harms of failing to acknowledge the impact of the placebo effect in both research and clinical contexts, the role of responsibility in the allocation of health care resources, and the importance of requiring consent for educational pelvic examinations on women under anesthetic.Nada Gligorov is an Associate Professor of Bioethics in the Alden March Bioethics Institute at Albany Medical College. Her current scholarly efforts are focused on whether brain death is biological death and on the role of cognitive and emotional processes in pain perception.
