摘要

Optical wireless power transmission (OWPT) has the advantages of compact, capable of long-distance power supply, and free of electromagnetic interference noise compared to wireless power transmission using electromagnetic waves. Therefore, various applications from small devices to mobilities are expected. Underwater and space applications are also attractive. This method consists of a beam light source and a solar cell, which are well-established technologies, however research and development are still limited, and it is hoped that research will be activated for practical use in various applications. In this paper, the features, issues, and trends of this OWPT are described as well as reporting of the initial research of underwater applications.
