On March 27, 1922 Barmer Maschinenfabrik Aktiengesellschaft (Barmag) was founded in Wuppertal-Barmen/Ger-many and was one of the world's first companies to construct machines for the large-scale production of synthetic staple fibers. Until today, the company has shaped technological progress in this sector; in future, it will do so with ever more innovations focusing on sustainability and digitalization. Since 2007 Oerlikon Barmag is a brand of the Oerlikon Management AG, Pf?ffikon/Switzerland.
