Mycotoxins are naturally occurring toxic secondary metabolites produced by fungi, which are capable of causing disease and may lead to death in human and other animals. These mycotoxins primarily affect different agricultural products. As compared to traditional methods, the biosensors are effective and efficient for the detection of these toxic molecules in the food, which combine a biochemical recognition element with a physical transducer. Since the biosensors have potential, real-time detection, and advantages over other analytical methods, these devices are being developed to get the high levels of accuracy for the detection of mycotoxins.
