Every year ad hoc reviewers make critical contributions to the Journal of Bacteriology (JB) by reviewing papers in their field of expertise. This year, we acknowledge 376 such reviewers who reviewed at least once between 1 September 2021 and 22 September 2022. That is a lot of reviewers and many, many reviews! These ad hoc reviewers include senior researchers who are former members of the editorial board and still do a great deal of service for the journal, as well as investigators early in their careers, including our early career researchers (ECR), who will be the editorial board members and editors of the future. I would like to thank you all! If your experience is anything like mine, you have almost daily requests to review for some journal or another—I wanted to say thank you for committing some of your precious time to review for JB.
