When considering which cities are likely to benefit from advanced air mobility, the English city of Coventry does not spring to mind. Yet the West Midlands city is playing a significant role in shaping the infrastructure that will be critical to making urban and interurban air mobility services a reality. In a parking lot a short walk from the city's railway station, a large tent-like structure has been constructed-a template that developer Urban-Air Port Ltd. (UAP) hopes will help establish electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing (eVTOL) aircraft services in cities around the world. The siting is deliberate-Coventry sits almost at the center of the UK and much of the country's population, and UAP is eager to demonstrate that advanced air mobility (AAM) can be integrated with other forms of transport.
