On Dec. 29, 2022, President Biden signed into law the Consolidated AppropriationsAct, 2023” (H.R. 2617), a sprawling bill that will fund federal governmentagencies through Sept. 30, 2023, when Fiscal Year 2023 ends.The omnibus bill includes the Advanced Aviation Infrastructure ModernizationAct (AAIM Act) under which the U.S. Department of Transportation will establisha pilot program to provide $12.5 million in grants to assist state, local and tribalgovernments and other entities in planning infrastructure to support advanced airmobility (AAM) operations. No grant may exceed $1 million.
