A LOT rested on the Continental PremiumContact 7 when it was launched at the back end of last year. Not only was its predecessor one of the firm's biggest sellers and a winner of multiple tests - including our own, back in 2018 - but it is also the company's tyre to suit most types of car, including the fast-growing EV sector. Not surprisingly, Continental says it has made improvements in handling, braking and comfort with the newcomer, and we couldn't wait for our annual test to see if the firm had delivered on the claims. We managed to squeeze in some track time at Continental's Contidrom proving ground in Germany to find out.
