摘要

The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) has developed prototype breeding lines of a new rice plant. These new lines of rice plants have short stature (90-100 cm), relatively few tillers, no unproductive tillers, large panicles (200-250 grains per panicle), thick and sturdy stem, and thicker, dark greets and erect leaves. The germplasm used in developing these plant types belongs to the tropical japonica group, formerly called javanicas.
