Hallam— Monolith said it has received conditional approval for a $1.04-billion loan from the U.S. Dept. of Energy (DOE) to help fund an expansion of carbon black and clean hydrogen at its Olive Creek facility in Hallam, Neb. (PCN, 13 Dec 2021, p 4). The company uses its proprietary methane pyrolysis process to convert natural gas into high-purity carbon black, hydrogen and ammonia.
