摘要

In goat farming, weaning age of kids has critical importance for better body growth and marketable age (Gokdal et al. 2017). Generally, kids are weaned based on age (days), body weight and concentrate intake (Memisi et al., 2009). Thus, the weaning ofkids at an early age would be beneficial provided that growth and feed intake of kids are not affected (Ferreira and Thornton, 2004). Milk yield in goat attains peak within 2 to 3 weeks after kidding and then declines rapidly during 8 to 10 weeks afterkidding (Goetsch et al., 2011). So higher growth in kids cannot only be sustained by low milk supply from their dams. Concentrate supplementation in kids has been shown to improve growth especially when milk yield of dam is low (Chaudhary et al., 2015).Therefore, a study was conducted to determine the effect of weaning age (60, 75 and 90 days) on growth performance of Sirohi kids.
