The temperature distribution of DC ice melting process is uneven, and the vibration amplitude of ice melting is different from that of natural ice melting. To study the operational characteristics of DC ground ice melting for transmission lines, a mathematical model of the temperature characteristics of DC ground ice melts based on conduction and Fourier's law was constructed. Then, according to the temperature distribution characteristics of the ground wire ice melting process, and based on the property matrix of the ground wire structure, the mathematical model of the ice melt vibration properties is made, and the DC ice melting temperature and the vibration properties of the ground wire are analyzed. Finally, different simulation models are created and compared with the numerical results to verify the accuracy of the mathematical model. The results show that the radial and axial temperature distribution of the ground wire DC ice melting process is not uniform. The ice melting current and ice thickness affect the internal temperature of the ground wire at the time of de-icing, while the ambient wind speed does not affect the temperature at the time of de-icing. The maximum vibration displacement of ground DC deicing is smaller than that of natural deicing, and the maximum vibration displacement is affected by DC deicing current by 15.87.
