Dan Posey, DVM, who recently received the 2022 TVMA Distinguished Career Achievement Award, recalls his childhood with fondness. Growing up in El Paso, Texas, his father managed a poultry operation, dairy and cotton farm. Young Dr. Posey had plenty oftime to play outdoors, to play sports and to care for the animals. He enjoyed the time on the farm in El Paso but was more interested in working with animals in different ways. He enjoyed all sports and the spirit of competition. The only thing holdinghim back in school was his love of learning.
