BC Hydro is conducting a procurement process with respect to civil construction works necessary for the seismic upgrade of the John Hart dam on the Campbell river, located on Vancouver Island in British Columbia (see also News on p8). Requests for proposals are invited by 30 March. The scope of the contract will cover construction works, earthworks and erosion control and excavation. The key components of the seismic upgrade project are new upstream and downstream berms, spillway gate and hoist replacement, a new overflow spillway, and an additional water seepage barrier in the middle earthfill dam.
