In this paper we discuss the approximate reasoning based onlinguistic truth value (RLV) with α-operator. A new method of RLV isproposed. It is equivalent to the original RLV method, but withoutusing the linguistic truth value fuzzy set. Under given conditions,we convert the problem of calculating sup (α' ∧ (ααb)) into theproblem of solving the equation of α'Tα=b. This significantlysimplifies the computations of RLV. Some properties of the RLV arestudied with examples, such as the "fuzziness" of the REV based ondeferent α-operators. A graphical method of REV is also given toprovide a convenient tool to implement the proposed method.
