The reaction N14O+N15O2=N15O+N14O2has been studied in the gas phase at mdash;35deg;C and at a total pressure of 2.5 cm of Hg. Although the reaction rate constant could not be determined due to the speed of reaction a lower limit for its value is 106cc molesmdash;1secondmdash;1. The equilibrium constant for the exchange at 298.1deg;K calculated from spectroscopic data is 0.967 as compared with 0.96 plusmn;0.02 which was observed. By combining the data obtained in this investigation with the equilibrium data for N2O3which is assumed to be the intermediate in the exchange reaction an approximate value for the energy of activation for the formation of N2O3is determined.
