Different types of pectinases, proteases, and li-pases were used to treat cotton fibers and knitted fabrics. The effect of the enzymatic action was analyzed using HPLC and ESCA, and the technical properties of the treated fabrics were determined. The impurities in the cotton could be removed by specific enzymes. The choice of the enzyme, however, had a great impact on the enzyme effect.
