The algorithms developed in this paper rely on cumulants, orhigher-order statis- tics, to eliminate Gaussian noise. A simplerelation between the signal model parameters and the cumulantmatrices computed form the received signals forms the basis for thedevelopment of these algorithms. The block Hankel structure ofmatrices formed form the cumulant matrices enables the directions ofarrival (DOAs) to be estimated using the well-known MUSIC and ESPRITapproaches to DOA estimation. The effectiveness of the methodsproposed here is demonstrated by the results of extensive computersimulation studies.
