AbstractAn automated macro‐Kjeldahl instrument (Kjel‐Foss) determines protein at the rate of 20 samples in 1 h. The methodology is similar to the Kjeldahl method officially recommended by the IAFMM for fish‐meal. The two methods were compared in a collaborative study. Six fish‐meals, tryptophan and acetanilide were analysed by 15 participating laboratories. The results showed good agreement between the two methods.
