摘要

Variations in the primary production of marginal seas in the course of global and regional climatic changes represent a very important problem. The latter is related both to the permissible recovery of marine bioresources needed for human activity and to the influence of oceanic productivity on the distribution of carbon dioxide between the atmosphere and hydrosphere and, consequently, the impact of the atmospheric greenhouse effect on climate. Therefore, the assessment of past variations in marine and oceanic primary production due to climate changes provides a basis both for understanding natural processes and for the correct prediction of bioproductivity and climate variations in future.
