AbstractBy applying sufficiently high pulsed optical power to the input transistor of a GaAs BFL inverter, it is possible to generate a complete logic transition at the inverter output with the input transistor biased in cutoff The observation is explained in terms of photogenerated current flowing in the drain‐gate circuit of the input MESFET.
