In this study the ecto-parasitic crustacean Argulus foliaceus was found from three Irish river catchments which means that it is now known from twenty-two localities within seven river catchments. It was associated with four cyprinid species and in addition the first record on the stickleback and second recorded on the freshwater eel in Ireland. This branchiuran is likely to be under recorded in Ireland and further records of its existence, over a wide geographic range, may be expected.
