Mention forming speed and immediately press speed comes to mind. Then the question is asked whether faster press speeds allow more or less stretchability. Actual case studies can be found supporting either answer. The same discussion applies to part behavior during a crash, where the speed of a car in a crash collapsing a part acts much like the speed of the punch deforming a blank. To answer the question, sheetmetal forming must be divided into two different effects-global and local. Global effects directly relate to the press speed (more accurately the punch speed), while local effects are differences in forming speed between adjacent areas of the stamping.
