Glbalisation is not a single phenomena, and it has become acatch-all concept to describe a range of trends and forces thatimpact our environment in many ways. Economic globalisation, underthe aegis of the so called neo-liberal economics, is a manifestedshift from a world of distinct national economies to a global economyin which production is internationalised and financial capital flowsfreely and instantaneously between countries. Under the perspectiveof a global economy, water resources are impacted both directly andindirectly. The aim of the present paper is to identify those areasin water resource management where the global economy seems to be toounregulated to be considered sustainable.
