A statewide telephone network enables the provision of continuing education to Wisconsin nurses at their place of employment or with a minimum of travel. This paper describes the equipment used, gives an overview of courses offered, and explains the format and design of courses. Advantages and limitations of teaching by telephone are also discussed.
