Genesis Systems Group LLC, Davenport, IA, was awarded a U.S. patent on a workpiece positioner with overhead-mounted robots. This new design minimizes floor-space, maximizes robot reach and retains the flexibility of robotic motion for a work-piece positioner and robot, according to company officials. The workpiece positioner assembly and top-mounted robot or robots are supported on a base frame.
