Tenacity and extension of 30s, 40s and 50s ring and compact yarns; courses and wales per in. and air permeability of dry and wet-relaxed knitted fabrics from the yarns. All the new spinning processes which have been developed in the past few decades were aimed at achieving higher production per spinning unit. But ring spinning is by far the most important yarn manufacturing process in short staple spinning today, thanks to its constant development. In the long course of its development, ring spinning has reached a remarkable degree of perfection, both in flexibility with regard to its range of application and in quality of its product. In spinning, ring yarns have therefore become the quality standard against which all alternative yarn types are measured. Ring spun yarns, seem now to have reached ultimate perfection in the art of making yarns out of staple fibres.
