This paper refers to the study of sunflower planter, developed after suitable modification in multi-crop planter. Its metering performance in terms of seed placement, speed of operation, cell filling percentage, etc. was studied, both inlaboratory and in field conditions. The percent cell filling and multiples in the planter was found to a have reverse trend. Whereas the percentage of missing cells varied directly with the speed of operation. The appropriate speed was in the range of 2.0 to 3.5 km/h.
