As the appointed representative of the RSFS, I attended the annual meeting of European Forest -Network (EFN), which was held this May in Goluchow, Poland. It was organised by the Polish Forest Society and headed by Dariusz Gwiazdowicz, Professor at the Institute of Forestry of the University in Poznan.The two-and-a-half day event was held in impressive facilities, the Forest Culture Centre in Goluchow, operated by Polish State Forests. Polish State Forests is a state institution that manages publicly owned forests in Poland, whether such forests are owned by the state, municipalities or institutions such as the military or the state railroads. It employs more than 25,000 people.
