IntroductionGlobal warming has moved to the forefront of the socio-economic and political agenda internationally and across all industries. The United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen at the end of 2009 is a prime testament to this fact. Much of the conference agenda centered on establishing greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction goals in order to abate global warming to safer levels. Though a binding agreement was not reached, the conference did succeed in focusing worldwide attention on the critical urgency to reduce GHG emissions.
