In 1997, nursing education in Turkey underwent a revolutionary change. All health high school 4-year nursing and midwifery programs and post-high school 2-year associate degree nursing programs closed or were changed to university-level, 4-year baccalaureate degree programs. The authors explain the change process in Turkey, its results, and the unresolved problems.
