Germination ofPinus roxburghiipollen was observed to be phytochrome-controlled. The red and far-red light affected the activities of succinate dehydrogenase and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase in a manner characteristic of enzyme induction by phytochrome. Activities of peroxidase and malate dehydrogenase were not affected by red and far-red lights in this system.
