Dipak Mazumdar (ISS), professor, Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, has been awarded the 2000 Metallurgist of the Year Award by the Ministry of Steel, Government of India.Mazumdar was recognized for his significant contribution in the field of mathematical modeling of steelmaking operations: ladle metallurgy, residence time distributions in tundish and continuous casting operations.
