Fifteen years in the making, a new bridge in Washington State over the Tacoma Narrows officially opened on July 16. The new bridge joins an existing bridge completed in 1950 and comes 67 years after the site gained notoriety in the engineering world with the collapse oftfhe first suspension bridge crossing.
