World sugar production is forecast to be 182.3 million tonnes in 2013-14, compared with the record of 183.6 million tonnes harvested last season. Forecast higher sugar production in Brazil,China and Thailand is expected to be more than offset by lower sugar production in Europe, Mexico and the US.World sugar production is forecast to increase modestly in 2014-15 to 182.7 million tonnes, in response to forecast higher world demand. Higher production is forecast for Brazil, Thailand, China, Mexico and Australia.
