ABSTRACTWe report on a case of keratitis with hypopion by Fusarium monilinforme, in a patient with palpebral retraction and light exophthalmos caused by hyperthyroidism. We emphasize the importance of the microscopic examination of bioptic material and the identification of fungal species: the first permits an early diagnosis, the second the adoption of a targeted and effective therapy. In our case, the ocular infection was successfully treated with antimycotic drugs used topically.
