EVA Airways became the 28~(th) member of the Star Alliance on June 18. Publicizing the event is a Boeing 777-300ER (B-16701). Already a major presence in the USA market with service to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and New York, EVA Air plans to increase frequencies on those routes (including to three times a day to LAX), and has Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, and Houston in its sights. EVA Air also flies to Vancouver and Toronto. Cebu Pacific Air received its first A330-343E (RP-C3341) in June on a 12-year lease from CIT Aerospace. A second is due by September and two more in 2014; options are held with CIT for four more. With a 436-seat all-economy layout Cebu Pacific sets a record for an A330-300, which has a maximum certified capacity of 440. Initially deployed on flights to Singapore and Seoul (Incheon), the A330 will launch daily service between Manila and Dubai on October 7.
