Rhododendron vanhoeffeniis refound in Greenland. Notes on history, distribution, ecology, morphology, and fertility are given. Its hybrid origin is established and consequently a new combination, XLedodendron vanhoeffeni (Ledum palustressp.decumbens × Rhododendron lapponicum), is made
